János Eifert: Marcel Marceau, 1968 / 2013, digital print, 150 x 150 cm

János Eifert is a seminal professional and artist, widely acknowledged in Hungary and abroad. This retrospective at Fészek Gallery showcases a small segment of an unparalleled oeuvre.

János Eifert is an artist who feels equally at home on both sides of the camera. He was successful as a dancer and found world-fame as a photographer. He started taking photos in 1968, while touring abroad, and went on to become an in-demand photographer, editor, illustrator and educator, as well as a leading organizer of the photo scene. He spoke at, or chaired, several international workshops. It is safe to say there is no field in photography in which he has not worked with success, producing lasting results. He created slide shows, garnered prizes, and later started to, and still does, teach photography. He has published several volumes on his favourite subjects, dance, female beauty, nudes, movement, and nature.

He is a member of 21 Hungarian and international associations. He has had 238 solo exhibitions in 40 countries, has taken part in over 2000 group exhibitions around the world, his photos and slide shows have earned him countless awards, main and special prizes, diplomas.
